Materials BuyerIs this the next step in your career Find out if you are the right candidate by reading through the complete overview below.A regional house builder have a requirement for a Materials Buyer to join their team.The company are a growing business providing new build housing, working closely with local councils, housing associations and registered landlords delivering traditionally built, affordable developments across the North West. This is a great opportunity for an Assistant to step into a Buyer position.Reporting to the Commercial Director you will be responsible to take off from drawings, scheduling and purchasing for new build housing developments across the region. Duties and responsibilities include:Provide scheme specific material budgets for site start budget processPlace bulk call off materials orders and adhoc purchase orders to meet the needs of the businessResolve supplier issues to ensure the efficient delivery of materials to siteSupport the implementation of strategic framework agreementsProduce accurate material take offs and schedules in accordance with programme requirementsMaintain completion up to date database of material schedules and costs for all house types (standard/RSL/Bespoke)Procurement of materials and placing orders ensuring delivery to site programmed delivery datesActively contribute to enhancing regional profitsTrack material cost fluctuations/price increases and highlight any adjustments to the regional commercial teamKeep detailed records and maintain a well-organised work schedulePrepare and contribute to cost reports in order to maximise efficiency's within the businessProvide support to Accounts team to ensure prompt resolution of invoice queries / issuesContribute to the development of improved purchasing processes and proceduresParticipate and contribute to regular Supply Chain Team meetings and forums to communicate developments, share good practice and up skill our peopleBuild excellent supplier relationsParticipate in establishing the business as an industry leader in Supply Chain ManagementSkills and Experience requiredPrevious experience of material procurement within housing projects is essentialAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specificationAbility to take-off materials and scheduleExcellent level of numeracy and skilled in verbal and written communicationHigh level of computer literacy in MS OfficeCommercial acumenIf you are interested and would like to apply, please contact Deena at Fawkes & Reece or apply via the link provided.TPBN1_UKTJ
