We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Mental Health Support Worker team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. HMP Wymott has a capacity of around 1,100 and a varied and complex population. This is a new, exciting opportunity to work on the wings, supporting mental health patients. The role is part of a new service within our mental health team of around 15 professionals. No two days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Salary:£24,669 - £28,690 per annum, depending on experience. Main duties of the jobSupport mental health patients across the wings, including those with severe mental health issues and personality disorders Carry out physical health checks (bloods, obs, ECGs, weight checks) Assist nurses and report findings and assessments Ensure continuity of care and deliver outstanding care Contribute to care packages, health promotion, wellbeing, and clinics Person SpecificationQualificationsNVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Essential) ExperienceExperience in a mental health environment (Essential) Additional CriteriaKnowledge of mental health issues (Essential) Disclosure and Barring Service CheckPosition subject to DBS clearance as per legal requirements.
