Health And Safety AdvisorAll potential candidates should read through the following details of this job with care before making an application.Location: DerbyHours 37.5 Per WeekSalary: (Band 5) 29,970In this role, you will work as an integral member of the Estates, Facilities and Health & Safety team to provide specialist advice, guidance and training regarding health and safety within the business, to ensure the highest possible standards for both patient and employee safety. You will assist in developing, managing and monitoring a Health & Safety strategy which ensures that they are fully aware of their responsibilities in demonstrating compliance with Health & Safety legislation. The post holder will assist with the identification, recording, evaluation and mitigation of risks arising from non-compliance with statutory legislation relating to the management of health & safety within the organisationWhat your typical day looks like: Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and practices are proportionate, realistic, in place and working effectively to ensure DHU and its employees are safeIdentify health and safety training requirements and support delivery of training as requiredAssist with the development and implementation of organisational wide health & safety improvement plansWork with third party partners such as HSE, CQC and ICB to ensure inspection requirements are metCarry out Display Screen Equipment assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to enable users to work with equipment comfortably and comply with The Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992Where appropriate complete and regularly review non-clinical risk assessments and assist with the review of risk assessments relating to all business elementsEnsure that all accidents are thoroughly investigated, reporting to senior management on the outcomesCarry out Face Fit reviews using the DHU Portacounts on both clinical and non-clinical DHU staff as part of a Team of Face Fit reviewersEnsure that any RIDDOR reportable incidents are done in a timely mannerProvide support to line managers to investigate non-clinical incidentsKeep up to date with relevant changes to legislation and report through to senior management if there is a potential business impactTo be a successful Health And Safety Advisor, you will need: Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety legislation codes of practice, standards and any other regulatory requirements with the ability to interpret and advise on their implicationsRisk management skillsExperience of providing health and safety services in the NHS, healthcare sector or in a large complex organisation (min 5 years)Experience of implementing safety management principles in a large and complex organisationEmployee benefits:As part of our team at DHU Healthcare, we believe in rewarding you, our colleague, for your hard work and dedication to providing the very best in patient care.
