Go back North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust Locum Consultant in Renal MedicineThe closing date is 18 July 2025A new opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, dedicated team and applications are invited for the post of Locum Consultant in Renal Medicine and General Medicine. This post will be based primarily at The Carlisle Cumberland Infirmary, although we also support West Cumberland Hospital so there will be a requirement to work across both sites. The post involves out-patient and in-patient duties and a regular commitment to both in-reach into the medical admissions unit and on-call for general medicine. Main duties of the jobBrief duties include: -Reviewing patients on the renal wards and renal units as well as other wards in the hospital. -Undertake ward rounds -Training/Supervising staff -Partaking in the on call rota as well as the medical on call rota -Reviewing patients in the Emergency Department/Acute Medical Unit where necessary About usAt NCIC, we have an ambition to deliver outstanding hospital and health services to half a million people. Person SpecificationEducation and QualificationsMBBS Fully registered on the UK General Medical Council Dual accreditation in Nephrology and General Medicine with the appropriate Royal College MRCP (UK) or equivalent Full GMC Registration Fellow of Royal College of Physicians ALS Experience and KnowledgeHigh level of clinical experience and competence in Renal and General Medicine Excellent communication skills with patients, colleagues, managers and other staff Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients A commitment to, and experience of teaching Within 6 months of CCT Management and AdminExperience of audit management TeachingExperience of, and commitment to, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.
