Electrical Trainer – Career Move from the ToolsLocation - Orpington, Kent Salary - Up to £45,000 (depending on experience)Hours- Full-time, 35 hours per weekLooking to step away from the tools but still want to stay hands-on and pass on your knowledge?This is a great opportunity for a qualified electrician to make the move into teaching and training, no formal teaching experience needed, just solid trade experience, confidence and a genuine passion to support the next generation.What’s the role?You’ll be delivering a mix of practical and classroom-based learning to electrical apprentices, working towards Level 2 and 3 qualifications (City & Guilds and EAL). You’ll help them build core skills and knowledge in line with industry standards, supporting them throughout their apprenticeship journey.You’ll get support and guidance as you adjust into a trainer role and if you don’t yet have a teaching qualification, you’ll be supported to work towards one.What you'll be doing?Deliver classroom and workshop training in electrical installation (Level 2 & 3)Break down complex electrical theory into real-world, practical learningSupport learners with coursework, assessments, and their progressionKeep accurate records of attendance and learner progressCreate or adapt teaching materials to keep content fresh and relevantPromote safety, wellbeing, and positive conduct during all sessionsLiaise with employers and other trainers to ensure learner successStay up to date with industry regulations and training standardsWhat you need?Essential:A Level 3 electrical qualification (or equivalent)Solid post-qualification experience in electrical installation or contractingStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBasic IT literacy (emails, presentations, reports)Maths & English at GCSE (A–C / 9–4) or equivalentWillingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already heldDesirable (but not essential):Teaching or training experienceAssessor or Verifier qualifications (A1, TAQA, D32/33, V1 etc.)IOSH or H&S trainingExperience supporting apprentices or junior staff on-siteSound like your next step?Whether you’re already mentoring younger electricians or simply want a change of pace, this is a brilliant opportunity to futureproof your career and stay rooted in the industry you know best while helping shape the next generation.Please note: These roles are only open to candidates currently residing in the UK with full right-to-work status.
