Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Retrofit & RefurbishmentLocation: Cardiff – Site BasedSalary: £45,000 – £60,000 + PackageWe are working with a specialist contractor delivering retrofit and fabric upgrade projects across South Wales. They are now looking to appoint a Qualified Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in construction, refurbishment, or void contracts to take full commercial ownership across a range of schemes.This is a site-based role suited to a proactive QS who thrives on autonomy and can drive value from tender through to final account.Key Responsibilities:Manage and control all financial and contractual aspects of retrofit projectsMeasurement, pricing, and evaluation of tendersLead projects from inception to completion with full commercial accountabilityIdentify opportunities to increase margin and reduce riskProduce and manage cost plans, budgets, and CVRsHandle subcontract procurement, management, and paymentPrepare and submit valuations and applications for paymentDevelop and maintain subcontractor and supplier contractsEnsure all works comply with Health & Safety and regulatory standardsRequirements:Professional qualification (HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma or equivalent)Proven experience in commercial management within construction – retrofit/fabric upgrades preferredSkilled in using bills of quantities, schedules of rates, and D&B contractsConfident in managing both direct and subcontract labourStrong knowledge of commercial reporting and forecastingExcellent Excel and general IT skillsAble to work independently, while supporting and mentoring others where neededIf you're a commercially focused QS looking for a long-term opportunity within a forward-thinking, retrofit-focused business — we’d love to hear from you.
