Assistant General Counsel - In House LawyerAbout the CompanyWe are working with a leading multinational organisation that operates across a diverse range of sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a business where legal is a key driver of commercial success and operational excellence.About the RoleAs Assistant General Counsel, you will lead a team of lawyers and work closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation. You’ll provide legal support across a broad spectrum of commercial and regulatory matters, helping to shape legal strategy and drive sustainable growth.ResponsibilitiesDeliver expert legal advice across commercial contracts, outsourcing, procurement, and regulatory compliance.Support major contract negotiations and tender processes across multiple business segments.Lead and develop a high-performing legal team, fostering collaboration and professional development.Act as Deputy to the General Counsel, contributing to legal strategy and departmental leadership.Ensure compliance with anti-bribery, corruption, and data protection regulations.Drive innovation in legal operations and support the delivery of training and internal policies.Oversee legal department budgeting and implement efficient systems and processes. QualificationsQualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with 10+ years’ PQE.Experience gained in top-tier private practice and/or in-house within a large, fast-paced organisation.Expertise in commercial contracts, public procurement, TUPE, GDPR, and technology services agreements.Experience with joint ventures, M&A, and complex legal structures.Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.Required SkillsQualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with 10+ years’ PQE.Experience gained in top-tier private practice and/or in-house within a large, fast-paced organisation.Expertise in commercial contracts, public procurement, TUPE, GDPR, and technology services agreements.Experience with joint ventures, M&A, and complex legal structures.Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills.Preferred SkillsCompany secretarial experience.Proficiency in at least one additional European language.
