ROLE- Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) TERM- Permanent LOCATION - Preston SALARY- £30,000 - £40,000, dependent on experience My client works within the building services industry. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Preston on a permanent basis. The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Design Engineering / CAD Operation positionPrevious experience in a similar role in a Building services or Industrial environmentBe proficient using 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo etc.Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExperience with thermal structure & HVAC sizingExcellent organisational skills and time management skillsHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Using CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsLiaising with manufacturing providersBeing involved in final assembly of productsCreating the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdating 3D models and drawingsInputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMsChecking drawings for sign offWorking in a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
