The role is predominantly office-based, working within an experienced team to develop and deliver mechanical designs that ensure safe, compliant on-site installations.What you would do:Designing in alignment with fire strategy reports, local building regulations, and planning authority requirementsAttending design team meetingsConducting site surveys of existing installations when requiredPerforming heating/cooling (thermal modelling) and ventilation load calculations using industry-standard softwareSizing and selecting AHUs, FCUs, extract fans, pumps, chillers, ASHP, boilers, plate heat exchangers, etc.Producing above-ground drainage calculations and sizing drainage systemsSizing and selecting domestic hot and cold-water equipment such as heaters and storage tanksProducing pipe and duct sizing calculations using software or spreadsheetsSizing and selecting firefighting sprinkler and pumping systems (preferred but not essential)Preparing stage reports and presentationsCompleting Designers Risk Assessment and Mitigation ReportsDetailing mechanical layouts and schematics for constructionMeeting project delivery deadlinesProducing detailed design and survey reportsQualifications:Extensive experience in mechanical engineering for building services in constructionMechanical Engineering Degree or equivalentGood knowledge of CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS & EN standards (Irish and UK) or ASHRAEWorking knowledge of design tools such as Hevacomp, Carrier HAP, CyMap, IES/TASAbility to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environmentStrong communication skills
