Title: Electrical Project Engineer Location: WidnesWork Type: ContractTo work as a contract Electrical Project Engineer and successfully deliver priority projects for our clients Widnes site. Working as part of the project team, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing design & project management expertise on electrical projects and will report to the Site E&I Engineer.This position will provide a variety of challenges and opportunities to work with some of the latest technology and would ideally be suited to a person who is self-motivated and possesses the drive and enthusiasm that will make a difference. The person needs to be proactive in maintaining and developing knowledge and skill to meet needs of the business.Key Responsibilities:Support the project activities of the site E & I and Project teams.Encourage and support compliance with health, safety and environment rules procedures and legislation amongst employees and contractorsProject management from design to execution of electrical projects which will involve upgrading and replacing HV and LV equipment on the site electrical networkElectrical design works associated with modifications to the site electrical networkEssential Experience:Evidence of electrical scope project management on a brownfield siteExperience of electrical technical reviews of specification, design and proposalsDevelopment of technical specifications for electrical equipmentDesign experience of LV networksProject experience of upgrading HV and LV networks including component specification and design standardsExperience of managing contractors and CDM, permitsExperience of electrical switchgear design, installation & replacementUnderstanding of power systems, including fault levels and protection studiesLV network and infrastructure upgrades i.e. MCC & LV switchboardsDesign for re-distribution of power on site networksHV network infrastructure modifications i.e. substation upgrades, modifications and redundant equipment removalAlthough predominantly project work on LV systems, an understanding and knowledge of HV systems would be extremely beneficialQualifications:Electrical Engineering Degree (or similar)Project management qualifications18th Edition IEE Wiring RegulationsMember of the IET or other professional bodyThe desired candidate will be a self-starter and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and oral.A high level of computer literacy is essential in the use of Microsoft Office.
