This role is dedicated to ‘making things happen’ across our multifaceted organisation. Whilst it is a senior role, the role holder will also provide ‘on the ground’ role modelling and support as part of a strategic intention or as part of ensuring the job gets done. The role holder will be defined by their excellent communication and organisational skills, as well as their ability to stay positive, be resilient and problem-solve. We need someone who can think strategically as well as deliver. It is a high-level role, central to the organisation, and will require someone who likes being relied upon to go the extra mile because they take pride in their role, often behind the scenes, looking to make a positive contribution.Role Purpose The role holder will lead key operational functions of the organisation, providing effective line management and leadership of the Operations Team to ensure that: the business is commercially viable through liaison with finance team. the offer is effectively marketed. BEP programme delivery/directors are properly supported. BEPs internal processes are fit for purpose to serve our customers and make us easy to deal with. all parts of the business run smoothly and efficiently in terms of every day functionality and change management, when required. they lead and manage organisational initiatives, bringing ops and delivery teams together. Wider Focused WorkingStrategic partnerships within Birmingham and beyond. Liaison across the organisation regarding IT/ Systems, Finance, Marcomms, HR etc. Key Responsibilities. Strategic Planning Take a strategic lead on reviewing, refining, improving, implementing current organisation-wide processes and systems to support the successful delivery of our offer to schools and other clients. Ensure all organisational systems connect, relate and integrate and therefore support the work of the organisation. Provide leadership and direction to the operations team to ensure systems continuously work well and projects are successful. Collaborate with senior leadership team to ensure that the processes and systems continually support the organisation’s objectives, flexing and adapting as required. Be proactive in anticipating necessary change and support requirements to support organisational delivery. Contribute to the development of long-term plans and policies to support the growth and success of BEP. Digital Technologies Provide strategic oversight and leadership to the development and delivery of BEP's digitalisation strategy. Ensure that the organisation remains up to date with IT resources that are fit for purpose for the functions of different teams. Data Management and Analysis Oversee the collection, analysis and interpretation of operational data to inform decision making. Implement systems to track key performance indicators and report on operational performance. Collaboration and Communication Foster effective communication and collaboration among the operations team and delivery teams. Facilitate cross team initiatives to promote a cohesive and supportive operational environment. Interact on a professional level with BEP colleagues, members of the board, partner organisations and our customers. Staffing and Resources Provide line management as indicated by the organisation structure. Positively conduct and contribute to appraisal reviews/staff development processes. Undertake induction and manage probation for new staff. Contribute to the recruitment and induction of new staff. Promote teamwork and effective working practices. Other duties Support the vision, mission and values of BEP. Promote a culture of collaboration and joint working across BEP working with SLT to refresh our behavioural framework. Play a role in developing and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and customer focus across the operational teams, identifying improvement opportunities and recommending action as necessary. Responsible for compliance of the duties and responsibilities of the post. Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding, health and safety, security, confidentiality and data protection. Other To ensure BEP is aware of, and complies with all legislation and good practice guidance in relation to all Operations-related activities.The post holder may be required to lead or support other projects as required by the organisation.
