Help where required other departments and ensure the company ethos is maintained at all points Quantity SurveyorReview, manage and implement construction contracts from clients and sub-contractors, ensuring that they are delivered in accordance with the contracted terms and conditions and that all issues are mitigated and managed to protect Inco Contracts commercial interests.Develop a working knowledge of various forms of construction contractsTo manage post-contract commercial processes and procedures to deliver key commercial requirements on projectsTo negotiate and resolve contract claims and disputes, and support senior managers in the resolution of escalated issuesTo maintain contract data with a high degree of accuracy to support robust management information and reportingUndertake order placement with back-to-back contracts with sub-contractorsUndertake project profit and loss reports ensuring they are kept up to date monthly for reportingUndertake monthly valuations for submission to the client and prepare final account settlement for submission to the clientUndertake review of monthly sub-contractor valuations and production of payment notices and payment certificates. Agree final accounts with supply chain and issue final certificatesProduce project related cash flow forecastsPrepare monthly project Cost Value ReconciliationCollation of relevant project related collateral warranties from sub-contractorsEstimator Undertake survey of tender sites, collating all relevant information for the tender to include survey report, site measures, on site drawings, site pictures and collation of tender queries for the clientUndertake detailed take offs and measuresUndertake tender document review including client contract documentsSending out of tender documents/packages to supply chain for production of quotationsCollation of sub-contractor quotes and detailed analysis of package submissions, undertake tender queries review of sub-contractor costsAssisting pulling tender documents for submissions together for review of Senior Estimator, Contracts Managers and DirectorsHold and chair tender review meetings prior to submission with Senior Estimator, Contracts Managers and DirectorsPreparing budgets, estimates and quotations for clientsResearching the cost of items such as general construction works packages, materials, transport, labour and equipment etcReview supply chain and bring new suppliers where requiredEstablishing and maintaining relationships with clients and sub-contractorsA bit more about the roleDependant on your qualifications, will depend on how long the apprenticeship is. This typically can be between 3-5 years. Depending on candidate experience, the apprentice would be required to attend college to undertake HNC/HND, move onto university to undertake a QS degree and must achieve a minimum Upper Second-Class Honours 2:1. The apprentice must stay for a minimum 2 year’s post successful completion of their apprenticeship or would be required to pay the tuition fee’s back to Inco Contracts.You will be expected to support either a Senior Estimator or a Senior Quantity Surveyor throughout the duration of your apprenticeship. Following an agreed period in the dual role, we would discuss moving you into your preferred role to either be a full-time estimator or full-time QS, however where required you will be expected to assist in the other role as the company requires.What we're looking forWe’re looking for someone keen to gain hands-on experience, develop practical skills, driven to progress their career and achieve the standards needed to succeed in this role.If you've got great communication skills, an eye for organisation and are a great problem solver, this apprenticeship could be right up your street.You’ll need to have:A Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, grades A-C or grades 9-4, which must include Maths, English and a Science or Technology subject.Depending on apprenticeship level, to also include a Level 3 qualification (A-levels, apprenticeship or BTEC etc), HNC in Construction or equivalent qualifications and commensurate industry experience. Additional InformationDuring your apprenticeship, you will need to travel to your place of study, office and sites.You will be required to be mobile in this role and are expected to have a full clean driver’s license and vehicle for travel.
