Contract: Permanent Closing date: Monday 4th August Recruitment Partner: Shannon Linton About the roleThe Boots Online Doctor (BOD) design team is expanding and is looking for a new hire to work with both a Senior and a Lead Designer. The Design department supports both Product and Marketing departments as well as the wider BOD team and works cross-functionally both inside and outside of an Agile environment. The job is remote but you will make regular appearances at our lovely offices at The Business Design Centre, Islington, London, N1. Including the occasional trip to our support office in Nottingham. We are looking for someone who will help steer a small but thriving department. BOD has been expanding fast and is actively developing, as a sub-brand of Boots UK, both its branded assets and design system, which makes this a particularly exciting time to join us. You will be invited to share a strong portfolio of creative digital design demonstrating expertise in user interface design across web and app with a flair for typography, iconography and hierarchy along with a special understanding of user interface fundamentals, usability and accessibility. Key responsibilitiesSupport the Lead Designer in the running of a cross-functional design department supporting Product, Marketing and the wider BOD team.Design on-brand, intuitive, accessible design assets and flows for the BOD website and our developing suite of apps.Support the Marketing team with the creation of campaign-focused content including bespoke campaign landing pages, videography / photography shoots and commissioned animated content for our social media channels and marketing emails.Produce and iterate interactive prototypes for stakeholder presentation, user research / workshops and A / B testing.Proactively collaborate with managers, developers, copywriters and clinicians.What you'll need to haveAt least five years experience as a Digital Designer for web and app products.A confident and skilled designer, able to present and defend high-quality, creative design work and articulate design decisions to senior stakeholders.Strong foundational knowledge of graphic design principles, typography, grids, colour and hierarchy.High level of proficiency in Figma and Adobe CC (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects).Experienced in presenting and communicating with Development teams.Confidence in creating and working with tokens and design systems.Flexibility and adaptability with the ability to change direction based upon team and stakeholder consensus.Collaborative, team-oriented with strong organisational skills, able to thrive in an Agile, cross-functional environment.An advocate for user-centric design approaches.Strong understanding of front-end development constraints and capabilities.Experience working on 'social first' campaigns would be desirable.Keen to learn and share knowledge with the team, keeping up-to-date with UI trends, techniques and technologies to bring fresh ideas and inspiration to the team.Our benefitsBoots Retirement Savings PlanDiscretionary annual bonusGenerous employee discountsEnhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for anyone expecting or adopting a childFlexible benefits schemeincluding option to buy additional holiday, discounted gym membership, life assurance, activity passes and much more.Access to free, 24/7 counselling and support through TELUS Health, our Employee Assistance Programme.We have a great range of benefits in addition to the above that offer flexibility to suit you - find out more atboots.jobs/rewards .
