Position SummaryBaptist Health Princeton Hospital Administers patient care in an inpatient setting for patients with advanced illnesses or injuries requiring complex, timely, and intense care to stabilize their medical condition. These units require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills. ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions Demonstrates critical knowledge, skills, and judgment to care for patients requiring complex assessment, therapies, high-intensity interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Utilizes assessment data to anticipate and respond to rapidly changing patient conditions. Identifies and prioritizes information for immediate, evidence-based, patient-focused action. Monitors and adjusts specialized equipment, interprets electronic displays, and responds to life-saving situations following standards and protocols. Assesses patient needs, develops and revises individualized care plans, and evaluates patient progress. Builds respectful relationships with team members and patients, respecting diversity. Acts as a patient and family advocate. Provides age-appropriate care, serving as a preceptor, charge nurse, educator, or clinician as needed. Collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary teams for effective care planning and management. Documents patient care accurately, including assessments, education, medications, treatments, and safety measures. Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and equipment use. Prioritizes patient care based on Evidence-Based Practice Standards. Delegates tasks appropriately, communicates effectively, and provides compassionate care. Maintains awareness of legal issues and patient rights. Specific Essential Functions for ECMO Specialist Provides staffing for ECMO services, working under the direction of unit leadership and in collaboration with the healthcare team. Ensures proper perfusion, acid-base balance, and hemodynamic stability for ECMO patients. Performs technical skills efficiently and safely, troubleshooting crises and emergencies. Operates ECMO equipment, monitors, and optimizes the circuit, and administers blood products and medications as ordered. Manages ECMO during transport and ensures continuous coverage. Attends mandatory simulations and maintains equipment and supplies. Other Related Functions Contributes to team knowledge, quality improvement, and professional development. Participates in committees, peer reviews, mentoring, and coaching. Maintains a safe, organized work environment and engages in ongoing education. Performs additional duties as assigned, including supporting other units when not providing ECMO services. QualificationsEducation/Training Graduate of an approved nursing school. Meets competency requirements for Orlando Health and the specific department/unit. Licensure/Certification Current Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license. Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification. ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC as required for specific units. Experience Minimum of 1-year nursing experience unless approved by AVP or higher.#J-18808-Ljbffr
