Key ResponsibilitiesManage and distribute sterile and non-sterile dental instruments across clinical departments Collaborate with nurses, clinicians, and the Equipment & Decontamination Manager Use IT systems to track instruments, defects, and turnaround with external providers Maintain stock control, rotate supplies, and reduce wastage Perform equipment checks and remove cement or residue prior to sterilization Support dental students in following correct decontamination protocols Uphold cross-infection and health & safety standards at all times Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment Participate in audits, stock checks, and contribute to process improvements Input data into multiple Instrument Management Systems (IMS) Take part in appraisals and training as required Essential Skills & ExperienceManual dexterity and ability to handle equipment and materials Functional skills in English and Maths Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Good organizational skills and attention to detail Desirable: Prior experience in a healthcare or decontamination environment Basic IT skills About the EmployerYou’ll be working with theBirmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHC)— home to over 5,000 staff delivering 100+ clinical services across the West Midlands.
