The HCA/NA will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.Main duties of the jobUndertake venepuncture Carry out baseline observations such as pulse oximetry , blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, recording findings accurately Undertake new patient health checks Facilitate routine and 24-hour BP monitoring, advising patients accordingly Act as a chaperone as required Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/clinical pharmacists/nurses Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations and sexual health clinics Support the practice with health promotion programmes Undertake wound care, dressings and other clinical tasks as required Support the practice nurse with the management of chronic disease clinics Carry out BMI checks as directed Administer flu vaccinations under a patient specific direction (if trained) Carry out ear irrigation under the supervision of the practice nurse (if trained) Processing and management of specimens for onward transportation Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Ensure all clinical rooms are adequately stocked Ensure clinical waste is removed from clinical areas and sharps bins replaced in accordance with the practice IPC policy Deliver opportunistic health promotion where appropriate Carry out long term condition assessments Carry out Spirometry Carry out Child Immunisation clinincs - NA Only Carry out smear clinics - NA onlyAbout UsWe are a large, dynamic, friendly practice consisting of 4 Partners, 14 Salaried GPs, 6 Clinical Pharmacists, 1 Nurse Manager,2 Practice Nurses, , 2 HCAs, 2 Phlebotomists & 2 Social Prescribers.
