A nurse with prescribing qualifications will use them appropriately.Management ResponsibilitiesEnable the nursing team to work effectively to provide a high quality service to patients and to work effectively with other agencies. Enable the Practice nursing team to apply and improve clinical governance and risk management systems Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, standards and guidelines across the Practice nursing team Supervise staff performance and developmentClinical ResponsibilitiesIdentify, assess and diagnose patients with complex health needs across the Practice population Work with others to change policies to improve health and well-being and reduce inequalities Lead the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based practice to improve the services offered by the Practice nursing team Management of Chronic Diseases Therapeutic Monitoring Wound Care and Management Patient Health Checks Risk Assessments Health Screening Travel Health Immunisation (Adult and Child) Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with general practitioners or independently to agreed protocols Provide general and specific health screenings to the Practice patients with referral to general practitioners as necessary. Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary. Cytology Urinalysis ECGs Requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs Maintaining GP and Nurses rooms, stocking and rotating items as required Chaperoning and assisting patients who are being examined by another clinician. Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of nurses and treatment rooms Stock maintenance and ordering At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
