The Role:Mergon UK are currently hiring for anAccounts Assistant/Purchase Ledger Clerkto join our team in Blackburn. Hours of Work:36.75 per weekKey Responsibilities:Responsible for all aspects of purchase ledger maintenance Setup new supplier accounts and maintain existing account details within purchase ledger Process purchase invoices daily through matching and coding Proactively resolving supplier invoice and payment queries to ensure the prompt payment of outstanding invoices Processing BACS and other regular payments Scan invoices to Sage and file Reconcile supplier statements and resolve related queries Processing and reconciliation of company credit cards Preparing month end accruals where applicable Providing support to financial controller and resolve month end queries Holiday cover for Sales ledger and daily banking Attending incoming calls/ emails and directing to relevant colleague and department Opening daily posts Providing support to the office and helping when visitors are on site Other ad-hoc duties as and when required by the line manager To be successful in this role, you will likely have:At least 3 years of accounting experience in a similar role, ideally from Manufacturing industry.An aptitude for IT; knowledge of software packages like Excel, Office 365 and BACSSage 200 experience is desirableGood time keeping management Self-disciple and ability to work under pressureGood organisational, communicational and time management skillsPolite and friendly telephone mannerAbility to work independent and part of a teamExcellent communication skillsThe document is a guide only and should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive.
