City of York Council is offering an exciting opportunity for Registered Nurses and Midwives to join our transforming 0-19 Healthy Child Service. We are looking for high quality, innovative and enthusiastic individuals with a passion for improving outcomes for children and young people.Our Healthy Child Nurses work in the 0-11 Health Visiting teams or in the School Aged Health Team. The role is varied, interesting and fulfilling and provides opportunities to make a real difference to children, young people and their families.Working as a Healthy Child Nurse you will contribute to the development and delivery of public health initiatives to promote the health and well-being of children and young people, enabling them to reach their full potential. You will deliver programmes of support in various community settings, early years settings, school settings and in the homes of families as delegated by Health Visitors and School Nurses.You will be working alongside a range of partners including early help providers, children’s services, education, housing, adult services, the voluntary and community sector, primary and secondary health services and of course children, families and communities.York is a great place to live and work, however, we know that isn’t the case for everybody living in York. Candidates must seek permission of their current line manager before applying for a secondment opportunity.Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process.
