County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Inpatient Physiotherapy AssistantThe closing date is 31 July 2025This is an exciting opportunity to join the well establishedinpatient physiotherapy team at University Hospital North Durham. We are recruiting for a full time band 3 physiotherapyassistant. We are looking for an enthusiastic applicant to join ourteam. You will work alongside Physiotherapy staff and the wider MDT and your development will besupported by senior staff working within these areas. Outstanding organisation and communication skills arerequired in order to support with the rehabilitation of patients. Main duties of the jobThe successful applicant will work as part of the widerphysiotherapy team to provide inpatient rehabilitation to clients in a range of settings withininpatients at UHND. The role has a 7 day working requirement. The successful applicant will work independently and as partof the team to provide physiotherapy treatment to clients on the stroke, medical, surgical,frailty and orthopaedic wards, working alongside other physiotherapists andassistants. They will also carry out administration tasks to support theservice. Supporting the inpatient physiotherapy team as an assistantwill involve working with physiotherapists, other physiotherapy assistants and members of the MDT, aswell as working independently to carry out treatment plans provided by thephysiotherapist. The patients will have a wide range of conditions andrequire a range of physiotherapy treatment including providing walking aids and carrying out mobilityand strength rehabilitation with the aim of supporting patients to safely return home or supportdischarge flow into the community hospitals for further rehabilitation About usIf you are being interviewed you must accept an interview slot in the system to continue, even if you have arranged with the manager You must be able to produceALLcertificates stated essential in the person specification or you will not be able to complete pre-employment checks We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. Experience working in a hospital setting with an inpatient client group. Experience of working in a community setting Experience of audit/research Basic competency training in: mobility, assessment, progression of mobility, provision of walking aids, stair assessment, passive movement, passive stretches and individual exercise programmes.
