You can be based in one of the following offices: London, Birmingham, Bristol or Manchester.About the Role The purpose of this position is to lead the railway systems safety activities on major rail projects within the UK and internationally. Responsibilities Lead and coordinate safety assurance activities on projects. Develop project-specific system safety strategies to comply with project processes. Coordinate with disciplines within the wider organisation; develop systems safety methodologies to meet project and client requirements. Manage all aspects of system safety compliance, risk analysis, evaluation, and safety product preparation, ensuring qualified professional oversight. Coordinate system safety products, including system definitions, hazard identification, system status records, and safety cases. Conduct hazard identification workshops (HazIDs), hazard and operability studies (HazOPs), and other methods. Manage System Safety Hazard Records to document hazards. Define CSM-RA Risk Acceptance Principles and identify potential Safety Measures to mitigate hazards. Provide compliance evidence and collaborate with clients and assessors to achieve necessary authorisations under relevant regulations. Ensure products and systems comply with applicable National Technical Specification Notices (NTSNs). Develop Safety Cases, Safety Process Management, and Reliability analyses for all sub-systems. Lead reporting and documentation efforts, including hazard logs, RAM management, and safety requirements. Verify design and construction requirements for reliability and safety. Lead capability performance analysis and root cause failure analysis. Manage all system safety assurance deliverables. Monitor project issues and key performance indicators.What do we need from you Essential: Extensive years of experience in rail engineering, with experience as a Senior Engineer. Experience delivering system safety assurance activities in a rail environment, in design and build projects. Experience ensuring compliance with CSM, Interoperability, NTSNs, and railway standards. Understanding of Rail standards ROGS, CSM RA, TSIs/NTSNs, ENs, and TPG. Management experience of a team of System Safety Engineers is advantageous. Willingness to mentor and develop team members. Excellent communication skills. YOU MUST HAVE THE RIGHT TO WORK IN THE UK Desirable: BSc or higher degree in a scientific or engineering subject. Chartered status or equivalent. Experience in infrastructure design, specification, and procurement. Knowledge of the rail environment is appreciated.#J-18808-Ljbffr
