Job Description

We are looking for a strong, competent swimmer with an interest in rehabilitation and Sports Therapy/Leisure. The ideal candidate is eager to gain valuable life skills, enthusiastic, adaptable, and organized, to work as a Centre Assistant/Lifeguard. The primary responsibility is ensuring the safety of all users of the facilities at the Park Rehabilitation Centre. Lifeguard qualification is an advantage but not necessary; the successful candidate must be willing to undertake the qualification. Applicants must be strong, competent swimmers and willing to undertake a swim test. This role is ideal for those seeking evening and weekend work to fit around family commitments, studies, or a career change. You will work in a lively environment with like-minded individuals, supporting others in their rehabilitation following clinical intervention. Work patterns will include evenings and weekends. Main duties of the jobMaintain supervision over swimming pool and gym sessions, communicate effectively with centre users and colleagues, and be aware of and prevent accidents. Responsibilities also include preparing activities for service users and performing cleaning duties to ensure a customer-focused environment. Prerequisites for the swim test include: ability to jump or dive into deep water, swim 50 metres in less than 60 seconds, swim 100 metres on front and back, tread water for 30 seconds, surface dive to the pool floor, and climb out unaided. Candidates must be confident in water and familiar with these prerequisites. Provided are two uniforms for poolside and income generation sessions.
