Teaching Assistant - SEMH ProvisionCandidates should take the time to read all the elements of this job advert carefully Please make your application promptly.Location: Chadderton, Greater ManchesterSalary: 24,000 - 26,000 per annum (depending on experience)Contract: Full-time, Permanent (Direct with School)Start Date: Immediate start availableMake a Lasting Impact Supporting Students with SEMH NeedsWe are seeking a committed and resilient Teaching Assistant / Learning Mentor to join a specialist SEMH provision on a permanent basis. This is a direct position within the school, offering the opportunity to build long-term relationships and play a crucial role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.You'll be working in a structured and nurturing environment, helping students manage behavioural challenges, build confidence, and re-engage with learning. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable young people.Key Responsibilities:Develop strong, supportive relationships with students, offering both emotional and academic supportDeliver 1:1 and small group interventions focused on emotional regulation and social developmentSupport pupils in managing behaviour, promoting engagement and focus in lessonsContribute to the development and implementation of personalised learning plansEncourage student participation and motivation through consistent and empathetic guidanceSupport students during unstructured times such as break, lunch, and transitionsEnsure a safe, calm, and positive learning environment, maintaining safeguarding and behaviour policiesWhat We're Looking For:Experience working with students with SEMH needs or behavioural difficultiesPatience, empathy, and resilience in challenging situationsKnowledge of emotional regulation and behaviour management strategiesAbility to adapt support according to individual needs and circumstancesA collaborative and proactive approach to working with teaching and support staffUnderstanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilitiesQualifications in education, childcare, youth work or related fields are desirable but not essentialWhy Join This Provision?Permanent, full-time contract directly with the schoolCompetitive annual salary: 24,000 - 26,000 (based on experience)Opportunities for ongoing training and professional developmentA chance to be part of a dedicated, student-centred teamMake a real difference in the lives of young people who need consistent, specialist supportHow to Apply:To apply, please submit your CV via this advert.
