Consistent growth and investment have enabled the company to develop into one of the UK’s leaders in this market sector working in partnership with both blue chip and Independent Companies.About the Role:We are recruiting for an experienced and proactive SHEQ Manager, based at our manufacturing site in Bury, to become a lead member within the UK SHEQ team. The UK sites include Upper Tier COMAH (Bury site) and lower tier sites and are certified to ISO9001, 14001 and addition to site-based activities the UK SHEQ team supports our field-based colleagues and engages with the wider Kersia group. As part of our SHEQ team the successful candidate will have responsibility for proactively promoting safety, quality, environmental and sustainability standards and assurance of compliance with regulatory and other relevant requirements.Monday - Friday34 hours per weekFlexibility is required to work outside hours when necessaryOn Site - Pilsworth, BuryMain Responsibilities: Provide safety advice and support the organisation to meet statutory, regulatory, and other requirements:Evaluate compliance with the legislation, policies and best practice, by ensuring that the relevant sections of the legal register are kept up to date, Compile and report safety and environmental performance data, objectives and PSPIs. Collaborate with departmental managers to promote SHEQ in daily operations.Take an active role within the UK SHEQ team to develop, implement and maintain the Integrated Management system, including:The continuous development and implementation of the Process Safety Management System (COMAH)Safety, legal and other national or international standards (ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001)Maintaining the site’s safety report Managing the incident reporting, action and non-conformity system (SHEQ App),Leading internal and supplier auditsMember of the onsite emergency response team including out-of-hours coverRepresent the company in discussions, meetings, and audits with the HSE, BSI, EA, United Utilities, etc.Attend and chair regular internal management, Safety, COMAH, and any other ad hoc meetings when required.Plan and carry out investigations, including site visits where necessaryEngage with colleagues, provide safety training, and campaignsSkills & Attributes / Experience & Qualifications:NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalentMember of IOSHAbility to be flexible with working hoursEnvironmental qualification or equivalent (desirable)Relevant experience in COMAH and chemical manufacturing or similar environmentTrained internal auditor (desirable)Full driving license and willing to travel on occasion to other sitesExperience of managing all aspects of health and safetyIT literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Ability to plan for and manage multiple prioritiesSelf-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider SHEQ team.
