The Role We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced tutor to work with our students and support them in the field of Psychology. Units to be taught include: an Introduction to Psychology, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Health Psychology. The successful candidate will do this through engaging sessions focused on developing academic writing, research and skills for study. This will also include writing assignment briefs, assessing and supervision of some students completing an Extended Project, in line with our awarding body’s guidance.Psychology Tutor to support FE Students The selected candidate will be responsible for: 1. Planning, preparing and delivering active and engaging lessons. 2. Preparing teaching materials for Psychology units for all Access and Higher Education students. 3. Marking and assessing students work in line with the awarding body’s protocols. Adapting course content as required.4. Supporting students to develop and improve their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills and knowledge in small group sessions.5. Supporting students in preparing them for Higher Education studies and UCAS enrolment. 6. Ensuring all planning and teaching is inclusive and addresses the needs of the individual learner. 7. Creating a welcoming environment for students from a range of educational and cultural backgrounds. 8. Recording achievement and progression results on completion of the course. 9. Supporting learners with opportunities for progression, including Further Education, Higher Education, vocational training, volunteering opportunities and pathways back to work. 10.Maintaining a register of attendance and administrative duties associated with their role. In addition to the above areas of responsibility, the post-holder may be required to undertake any other reasonable duties relating to the broad scope of the position, commensurate with the post, and in support of Ruskin College The Person You must be a highly motivated and enthusiastic tutor intent on supporting our students in helping them to progress from Further Education to Higher Education. An ability to think on your feet and work well as a team, focused on the wellbeing and welfare of our students is essential, as is a commitment to our values and ethos here at Ruskin.
