Cumming Group as seeking to recruit an Estimator to join our Utilities team in Cardiff.The Estimator will be responsible for supporting and delivering cost intelligence, estimating, and cost management services on a wide range of utility and infrastructure projects. You will contribute to several design phases from concept and feasibility to post completion phases and support strategic initiatives and business development while working collaboratively with internal teams and external clients. The role of an Estimator includes the following responsibilities:Prepare budget estimates, cost plans and benchmark estimates.Support bid and tender preparations, contractor selection and evaluation. Develop and maintain cost models, cost databases and engineering definitions.Analyse and cleanse data for cost assurance, reporting and benchmarking.Produce cost reports, valuations, forecasts and dashboards. Administer change control processes and contract documentation.Support the development of costing tools and manage cost database systems.Work with project teams to deliver high-quality outputs to strict deadlines.Manage the allocation of design and cost data to appropriate WBS/cost hierarchies. Contribute to risk and value management, project meetings and client reporting. Promote knowledge sharing, innovation and continuous improvement.Ensure service delivery aligns with governance, QA and H&S protocols.Achieve all objectives as required by the annual performance review process.Key Attributes:The ability to – Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple data sources and present information clearly.Effective communicator, both written and verbal.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment.Collaborative, dependable, and proactive team player.Driven to improve and innovate within cost estimating practices.Able to work independently and manage competing priorities.High level of integrity and professionalism.Qualifications and Skills: Ideally degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction, Cost Management, Engineering or related field.Working towards or already MRICS or equivalent (desirable).
