We want to attract, develop and retain individuals with different experiences, backgrounds and perspectives.Role OverviewThe Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) for Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) is responsible for overseeing and enhancing the quality assurance of the EYITT programme. The IQA ensures that all aspects of programme delivery, assessment, and trainee support meet internal and external quality standards, including Ofsted and DfE requirements. The IQA collaborates closely with programme leaders, tutors, mentors, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and ensure outstanding trainee outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesCore Quality Assurance Activities· Monitoring the Quality of Student Teacher Assessment Use a sample-based approach and standard report templates to review EYITT trainee assessments, ensuring consistency, fairness, and high standards.· Ensuring Fidelity to the Target Setting Process in Mosaic Regularly sample and review target-setting records by all stakeholders in Mosaic to ensure robust, effective practice.· Sampling the Quality of Final Recommendation and End Point Assessment Select and review samples of final recommendations and End Point Assessments for EYITT trainees to ensure decisions are evidence-based and meet programme standards.· Sampling Support Plans (e.g. ALN, Wellbeing) Review a sample of Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and wellbeing support plans for EYITT trainees to quality assure processes and inform future workforce training.· Observations of New Interviewers Conduct structured observations of new interviewers involved in EYITT recruitment, providing developmental feedback and identifying training needs.· Sampling Interview Records and Interviewer RAG Ratings Select and review samples of interview records and RAG (Red/Amber/Green) ratings for accuracy, fairness, and compliance.· Sample Compliance Checks on Qualifications and Entry Criteria Conduct compliance checks on a sample of EYITT applicant records to confirm that qualifications and entry criteria are met before DfE Register upload.· Monitoring Placement Schools with Ofsted 'Requires Improvement' Judgement Monitor the quality of EYITT placements in settings rated 'Requires Improvement' by Ofsted, sampling mentor feedback, trainee experience, support structures, and feeding findings into Lead Mentors.Additional Responsibilities· Liaise with the Programme Director, Director of Quality and Compliance, Head of EYITT, QA Manager, and programme coordinators as required.· Utilise BPN's Outlook calendar to record all appointments, meetings, and QA tasks, ensuring visibility of working days and hours four weeks in advance.· Attend and contribute to QA Team meetings as per agreed schedule.· Analyse data for discussions and reports as directed by the QA Manager.· Monitor and evaluate the support provided by Lead Tutors and Lead Mentors to continually improve the quality of support for trainees and mentors.· Complete quality assurance activities and maintain accurate records in a timely manner.· Provide Ofsted inspection support and prepare for external moderation as required.· Prepare and deliver essential QA training to trainees, mentors, and BPN colleagues as required.· Support the QA Manager and Head of EYITT in identifying training needs to inform improvement work.Location: Remote, with travel as requiredContract: Full-time, PermanentReports to: QA Manager, Head of EYITT, Programme DirectorSalary: £35,700Essential Criteria· Experience: Proven experience in a quality assurance role within early years education or teacher training.· Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ofsted and DfE requirements for EYITT.· Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse and interpret data, identify trends, and make evidence-based recommendations.· Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective feedback and stakeholder engagement.· Organisation: Strong organisational skills to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.· Digital Competency: Proficiency with digital learning platforms and Microsoft 365 applications.· Qualifications: Recognised QA or teaching qualification (Desirable -Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance).· Safeguarding & EDI: Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of the role.28 days holiday and get an extra day for each year you stay with us, up to max 33 days PLUS bank holidays.We pay for a Healthcare Plan once you've passed probation, which includes access to a private GP.From day 1, free life insurance covering up to x4 your salary.We'll both add money into your pension pot after 3 months.Get 25% off online learning resources for year 1 to GCSE with EdPlace.Choose what flexible benefits you want after you've passed probation - this could be buying extra holiday, dental, topping up your healthcare plan, bikes, gym membership, electric cars and give as you earn.
