This pioneering company has completed construction of a state-of-the-art processing plant in Grangemouth, a historical exemplar plant for Scotland, and are operating at a commercial scale.This first commercial plant is the launching pad for our ambitious international growth plans.The Grangemouth facility is the exemplar to building larger scale facilities across the UK and internationally. The recruitment of a Senior Process Engineer into the business is part of our strategic growth plan to enhance our internal talent pool to help develop future project opportunities.Job OverviewThe Senior Process Engineer will join the Engineering and Projects (E&P) team at Celtic Renewables Limited (CRL). The successful applicant will gain first-hand experience at the Celtic Renewables Grangemouth (CRG) plant learning about the ABE process.The Senior Process Engineer will work closely with the E&P team throughout the full project development process to ensure successful and timely delivery of project plans.The role will be at the forefront of the design, development and commissioning of new ABE fermentation plants. The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for the management of the design team, external parties and stakeholder in line with project programmes whilst ensuring the quality of outputs and compliance with specifications and standards.You will be primarily based at the Edinburgh office with a frequent attendance at the Grangemouth Facility. You will be required to visit potential development and partner sites as necessary.Work ScopeLead on the development of new plant design for future CRL projects ensuring timely delivery and quality of outputs.Support the development of the CRL Engineering team.Support the Operations team at CRG to ensure ongoing performance and optimisation of the plant.Produce documentation to ensure full compliance with H&S and project requirements.Develop information packs to support team development, training and commissioning of future plants.Perform technical studies in applicable project related technical issues and report and feedback findings to the team and / or the executive team.Participate in HAZOP studies ensuring the necessary measures are included within the design to ensure safe and optimal operating conditions.Lead the development of project documentation to ensure delivery of the project delivery plan timescales.Lead the development of company standards and the project delivery model.Manage external contractors and stakeholders to ensure that optimal delivery of work packages and ensure adherence to company policies and standards.Role ResponsibilitiesSupport the operations team in the operation and optimisation of our Caledon Green Biorefinery.Assist the development and execution of new feedstocks / projects trials, identifying requirements and solutions for successfully processing material and obtaining key data.You will work with the rest of the E&P team and play a leading role in the preparation and/or review of project deliverables such as technical specifications, mass balances, calculations, reports, datasheets, schedules, project plans, PFD’s, P&ID’s, control philosophies, and other associated project documentation.You will ensure that all project activities are conducted within applicable legislation and in accordance with agreed Company policies, processes and procedures.You will play a leading role in the development and delivery phase of future projects by identifying appropriate process and value engineering improvement opportunities.You will be responsible for the development of process documentation and with the management of external contractors.You will support and assist with project procurement activities including equipment and service scoping, tender processes, contract negotiations, contract award and close monitoring of variations to ensure CRL obtains the best value and most effective solution.Skills & Requirements5-10 years Project Engineering experienceMinimum BEng in Chemical EngineeringResilient, hardworking, and diligent with exceptional attention to detailStrong appetite to apply learning and continue professional growthProactive with a strong team ethosExcellent communication skills with a good knowledge of English, both written and verbalGood working understanding of Microsoft IT packagesHave the right to work in the UK.Full UK Driving Licence
