Role: HVAC Design EngineerLocation: Reading Area – 3-4 days on-siteDuration: 12 monthsRate: £55.05 per hour - UmbrellaHVAC Design Engineer needed on contract to join our client, an established aerospace & defence engineering consultancy operating on-site in Reading area.**Please note this role would require current UK SC Clearance - Sole UK Nationals Only**What the role of the HVAC Design Engineer entails:Some of the main duties of the HVAC Design Engineer will include:Develop detailed designs and specifications using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)Support the safe decommissioning of nuclear facilities, systems, and assetsCreate and test prototypes ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standardsConduct technical research to inform design and engineering approachesManage timelines, resources, and budgets in line with nuclear regulationsCollaborate across departments to ensure design coherence and safetyPrepare comprehensive technical documentation and reportsConduct simulations and virtual testing of mechanical designsMonitor technological advancements and design best practices in the nuclear fieldWhat experience you need to be the successful HVAC Design Engineer:Essential:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally in the nuclear sectorProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)Strong analytical, time management, and communication skillsFamiliarity with nuclear industry standards and regulationsPreferred:PE certificationExperience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation toolsKnowledge of nuclear-specific materials and manufacturing processesThis really is a fantastic opportunity for a HVAC Design Engineer to progress their career.
