The Health & Safety Manager, Manufacturing will join the Myton Manufacturing team, taking responsibility for all elements of Health, Safety & legality. The Manager will work to ensure the safety of our colleagues as well as the legality of our Brand. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to meet related objectives and drive improvements in compliance.Always ensuring that the strategic plan is fully embedded within the site and the wider manufacturing business.This is a permanent role, full time role, based onsite in Colne 5 days per week.Please note that this is an abattoir / slaughterhouse environment where raw meat and carcasses are present.As a Health and Safety Manager you will;Manage serious accident investigations and liaise with legal as requiredEnsure all investigations are completed to a high standard and in a timely mannerProvide audit and investigation reports, in a clear and consistent formatManage the health & Safety management system and relevant documentation and recordsManage the site risk register and ensure all required assessments are completed and reviewedReview trends and other data to proactively identify where improvements can be made and work with Stakeholders to implementManage Whistleblower complaints through to a satisfactory conclusion, providing a professional investigation and involving other colleagues as needed and providing a professional Investigation of Whistleblower cases until a satisfactory conclusion is reachedWork with Stakeholders to manage a safety approach for new builds, refurbishments and acquisitions. Attend and resolve issues prior to openingDeliver project based activitiesProvide a Health & Safety management service to ensure safety is paramountProactively build engagement with the senior teams, to provide information and trends which identify key concerns and to offer solutions for improvementManage/ coordinate activity where serious safety or legality concerns have been identified and work with sites to demonstrably improve standardsWork with stakeholders to manage the HSE and Fire Officer activity, arrange for any necessary support, disseminate information and liaise to reach a satisfactory conclusionProvide a reactive service for serious safety issues and incidentsYou’ll also bring:NEBOSH Diploma or equivalentIn-depth knowledge and understanding of manufacturing and the required health 'safety requirementsKnowledge and understanding of Health & Safety legislation and its requirementsAn appreciation of legal systems An understanding of Health & Safety management systemsStrong communication, engagement and motivational skillsAbility to coach to drive performance improvementThe ability to engage with colleagues at all levels to drive improvementsAbility to influence business decisions that impact on Health & Safety and legalityThe ability to champion the customer and colleague Ability to identify risk and prioritise tasksTenacity to follow up and resolve issuesAnalytical thinking
