We are proud to be partnering with a Local Authority based in Wales, who are looking to appoint an Education Solicitor on a 3 month (minimum) locum contract.This role can be completed on a fully remote basis and offers an hourly rate of circa. £50 – £60/hour via an umbrella company.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Providing high-quality legal advice and support on education law matters to internal clients across the Local AuthorityAdvising on statutory responsibilities under the Education Acts, including school admissions, exclusions, attendance, special educational needs (SEN), and safeguardingHandling casework and represent the authority in relation to Education Tribunal matters, particularly involving the First-tier Tribunal (SEND)Drafting and review a range of legal documents including advice notes, agreements, reports, and tribunal documentationSupporting and advising education officers, school staff, and other stakeholders on legal duties and best practicesManaging a caseload of education law matters efficiently and independently, including judicial reviews and complex advisory issuesLiaising effectively with external organisations including courts, legal counsel, government bodies, and schoolsAttending and representing the Local Authority at multi-agency meetings and panels where legal input is requiredExperience required:Experience required within Education LawLocal Government experienceRewards and Benefits:Remote workingFlexible working hoursWorking hours:Flexible start/finish timesFull-timePlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
