Regulatory Ecotoxicologist – EU-FocusedCrop Protection | Regulatory Affairs | Active Substance & Product RegistrationA global crop protection leader is seeking a technically strong Regulatory Ecotoxicologist to join its Regulatory Affairs team in Leeds. This is a high-impact position for an experienced scientist who wants to influence the registration of active substances and formulated products across the EU, with additional exposure to LATAM markets (~20%).The RoleYou’ll be a key contributor to the preparation, submission, and defence of regulatory dossiers for agrochemical products and active substances. Working closely with international regulatory and R&D teams, your primary focus will be EU submissions, with limited but strategic support for Latin American regulatory activities.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, compile, and submit ecotoxicological sections of regulatory dossiers in compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1107/2009, REACH, CLP, and related guidance.Perform and document risk assessments for non-target organisms, including aquatic life, birds, bees, and soil organisms using EFSA and OECD methodologies.Evaluate and interpret GLP-compliant ecotox studies; contribute to study planning, monitoring, and contracting with CROs.Use regulatory tools such as FOCUS, EFSA PRIMo, and IUCLID for exposure modeling and data submission.Support and/or lead active substance renewal and defense dossiers; prepare waivers, data gap justifications, and scientific argumentation.Provide scientific input for product registrations where active substance data is not required.Interface with regulatory authorities in the EU; contribute to regulatory strategy development and participate in response preparation to authority questions.Assist LATAM regulatory teams with data interpretation, dossier compilation, and strategic planning (~20% of workload).Profile We’re Looking ForMSc or PhD in Ecotoxicology, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Chemistry, or similar.Minimum 3+ years' experience in regulatory ecotoxicology within the agrochemical industry, consultancy, or regulatory authority.Solid experience with EU regulatory frameworks for active substances and/or plant protection products.Proficient in risk assessment methodologies, dossier preparation, and ecotoxicological study interpretation.Familiarity with regulatory tools (e.g., FOCUS models, PRIMo, EU IUCLID, OECD/EU test guidelines).Active substance registration experience strongly preferred; product-only experience will also be considered.Experience working with or supporting LATAM registrations is a plus.Fluent in English; additional language skills (German, Spanish, Portuguese) are advantageous but not essential.For more information, send your CV to this advert or send an email to Abid Kanji on a.kanji@
