Job Description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a design and manufacturing business on the appointment of a Strategic Sourcing Specialist on a full-time permanent basis. This is an excellent chance to join what is now a global business with over 400 staff, selling to a growing international customer base.As the Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you are responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing spare parts for all equipment. You will ensure cost-effective procurement, maintain supplier relationships, and optimise inventory levels to meet operational needs.Benefits:FlexiCore hours are 09.00 am- 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 09.00 am-12.30 pm on Friday. In your new role:Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for spare parts based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings and ensure reliability.Prepare and issue purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely availability of parts.Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to improve cost efficiency and service levels.Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, aftersales) to understand and fulfill part requirements.Monitor supplier performance and address issues to maintain competitive pricing, quality, and compliance.Analyse demand patterns and optimise stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.Coordinate with warehouse and logistics teams to improve inventory management and efficiency.Identify cost-saving opportunities and support budget control initiatives.Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of purchases, contracts, and supplier evaluations.
