Job Description

Amazon is seeking an International Tax Senior Analyst to join its Direct Tax Reporting team in Mexico City with a primary focus on tax reporting for Amazon’s legal entities in Latinamerica. The mission of the Foreign Reporting Group is to comply with local tax reporting requirements and manage the worldwide, tax-related filings of Amazon’s foreign entities.As a member of the Foreign Reporting Group, the Tax Senior Analyst will primarily drive the process of managing local tax accounting compliance for various entities in Latinamerica, international aspects of the US GAAP and local income tax provision.Key job responsibilities Primary Responsibilities - Prepare / Review income tax returns and other foreign tax filings. - Prepare / Review estimated income tax payments. - Support income tax accounting and reporting under US-GAAP. - Assist with process improvement and automation implementation throughout the foreign tax reporting and compliance process. - Support ASC 740/ quarterly and annual tax provision calculations. - Prepare standard operating procedures for review and approval by management. - Review tax planning strategies from a local direct tax compliance perspective. - Support international tax controversy teams on tax audits. - Follow up with tax law changes and implement new processes and strategies. - Coordinate the use of outside advisors for the provision of technical memos that support income tax positions as part of the tax compliance - Review financial data for proper application of tax laws. - Work with tax technology and IT teams to come up with automated solutions to the compliance process and assist with implementation if needed.About the team Inclusive team cultureAt Amazon we embrace our differences and we are committed to furthering our culture of inclusion. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Bachelor's degree - 6+ years of experience, specially working in a large public accounting firm or multi-national tax department - Business fluent English and Spanish language skills. - Experienced working on LATAM tax reporting and compliance matters - Tax provision experience and understanding of accounting pronouncements PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experienced in fulfilling income tax compliance and reporting obligations for US multinational organization - Project management and organization skillsOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
