This role is integral to leading our TTA Optimisation workstream and enhancing patient safety and medication management.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Expertise: Promote responsible, safe, and cost-effective prescribing of medicines to optimise clinical outcomes and minimise adverse reactions. Patient-Centred Care: Deliver high-quality, patient-focused care, serving as a clinical role model and ensuring continuity of care during discharge planning. Leadership: Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior pharmacy staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in service delivery. Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely and safe discharges, attend ward rounds, and participate in clinical decision-making. Quality Improvement Initiatives: Lead quality improvement projects focused on discharge planning, medicines counselling, and enhancing the patient experience.For More Information, Please ContactFunke Alimi-Omidiora, Associate Director of Pharmacy (a.alimi-omidiora@) OR Armaghan Amini Moghadam, Lead Pharmacist – Acute and General Medicine (armaghan.amini-moghadam1@)The post holder will carry out the full range of duties as a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist – Acute and General Medicine, promoting the responsible, safe, and cost-effective prescribing of medicines to optimise clinical outcomes, minimise adverse reactions, and improve medicines safety within acute and general medical wards at The Royal London Hospital.The post holder will deliver patient-focused, high-quality care and act as a clinical role model within Acute and General Medicine. They will also provide clinical supervision to rotational pharmacy staff working in these areas, supporting their development and maintaining professional standards.The post holder will contribute to the TTA Optimisation workstream, providing senior clinical input to the TTA Hub service. They will also provide leadership and oversight to junior members of the pharmacy team and support service improvement initiatives aligned with the Royal London Hospital and national priorities.The post holder will either be a registered non-medical prescriber or be willing to undertake training, with the ability to make prescribing decisions.The TTA optimisation work stream is anticipated to support and help with improving operational performance across the Royal London Hospital. Staff will be moved into a role or specialty within The Royal London/Mile End Hospital team based on the operational and clinical needs.
