Pharmacy Technician - RotationalWe have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team, based at The London Clinic in Central London, W1G 6BW, Band 5 salary equivalent.The Pharmacy department at The London Clinic comprises of number of areas which work together to provide effective patient services and best possible outcomes for our patients.The London Clinic's Pharmacy Department are a close-knit team with around 45 staff members. The Pharmacy department comprises of 9 core services: On Call, Dispensary Services, Distribution and Top Up Service, Procurement, Clinical Ward Pharmacy Services, Provision of Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Aseptic/Technical Services, Clinical Governance and Education and Training.We have extensive oncology services, including a purpose built chemotherapy aseptic compounding suite. As well as an automated medication dispensing system which supports decentralised medicine management in numerous wards.Job ProfileAs a Rotational Pharmacy Technician, you will participate in a safe, efficient and accurate, technician led pharmacy operational service across all sites at The London Clinic. This is a rotational post through Dispensary, Distribution, Procurement with eventual addition of Ward services.The post holder will ensure that the services are delivered in a safe, effective, economic and timely manner and will be responsible for ensuring that all documentation and procedures are carried out in accordance with current legislation and guidelines.Job Type:This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.Shifts:Monday to Sunday 8.30am to 7.30pm as rosteredSalary: Band 5 Salary equivalent.Benefits PackageContributory pension scheme (total annual contribution up to 20%). We also offer excellent career development; with clear career pathways and access to further education.Key DutiesParticipate in the provision of a safe, efficient and accurate dispensing service to all pharmacy users, including the dispensing of controlled drugs. To support and direct work flow of all dispensary staff, ensuring SOPs are followed and standards are maintained. To manage day to day ordering of medicinal products. To raise consumable and Total parenteral nutrition (TPN) orders to suppliers and central stores in the absence of Pharmacy administrative assistant To support the Senior Pharmacy Technician (Medicines Management) and ward pharmacists in managing an efficient, accurate and flexible near patient service to the hospital wards.Skills & ExperienceNVQ Pharmacy Services Level 3/ with accredited underpinning knowledge (BTEC Level 3 Diploma in the Principles and the Practice of Pharmacy Technicians) or Equivalent. Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
