Your role is crucial to ensuring that our review decisions are robust and legally sound, ultimately helping to shape the quality of homelessness services across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils.You will be working across both boroughs, contributing to a fast-paced environment where your decisions will have a direct impact on service delivery and the lives of those at risk of homelessness.About The RoleYou will have experience of making decisions in relation to homelessness applications or applications to join the housing register.You will operate in a fast-paced working environment working to statutory deadlines and ensuring that reviews are carried out in accordance with the relevant timescales.You will be responsible for managing a case load of reviews and will be required to provide detailed written decisions that are robustly defendable if challenged on appeal.You will work collaboratively with other Council services to ensure that learning opportunities shared in a meaningful and informative way.You will be required to attend court, instructing and advising counsel where appropriateEssential Qualifications, Skills And ExperienceTo excel in this role, you will need:A detailed knowledge of housing legislation and an analytical approach to your work, you will be able to able to critically evaluate information and communicate complex decisions clearly in writing.The ability to manage a large and complex caseload without day-to-day supervision.Ability to produce detailed legal notifications for internal colleagues and service users and their legal representatives.Experience of attending court, providing detailed case information, and advising counsel on short notice when necessary.Experience of collaborative working as part of a wider team in a fast paced, front line housing service.Indicative Recruitment TimelineClosing Date: Sunday 27th July 2024Shortlisting Date: W/C 28th July 2024Interview Date: TBCWe may close this vacancy early once a sufficient number of applications has been received.
