Mitie is seeking a Head of QHSE to oversee the full spectrum of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment across our Power & Grid Business Unit—supporting transformational delivery of large-scale infrastructure programmes.As the trusted partner to the QHSE Director and senior leadership teams across Rock, Custom Solar, ESM and G2, you'll lead from the front to ensure safe, compliant, and high-performing operations. This is an opportunity to influence strategy, set standards, build relationships, and drive a culture of excellence across multiple disciplines and sites.What You'll Be Doing:Lead a cross-business QHSE team and drive high-impact improvement plansOversee compliance across Power & Grid operations, ensuring alignment with divisional and sector objectivesDeliver root cause analysis on incidents and non-conformances and embed preventative solutionsShape and implement assurance programmes in partnership with the QHSE DirectorSupport tender activities with expert QHSE input and policy developmentLeverage data and audit insights to build a proactive, performance-led safety cultureBuild trusted client relationships and champion safe delivery within operational leadership teamsWhat We're Looking For:Chartered QHSE professional (CMIOSH)Experience in training delivery, grid or electrical engineering environmentsProven experience in senior multi-site leadership rolesStrong working knowledge of CDM, civils, and infrastructure programmesExpertise in internal audits, ISO standards, and incident reporting systemsComfortable influencing at senior levels and managing cross-functional teamsFull UK driving licence and flexibility to travel and adapt as needed Bonus Skills (Desirable):Strong background in client-facing operations or commercial environmentsThis is a rare opportunity to lead a strategic safety function and leave a lasting imprint on the resilience, quality, and delivery of essential infrastructure programmes.
