POSITION TITLE:              HEAD BARTENDERREPORTS TO:                   FLOOR MANAGERCLASSIFICATION:                      HOURLYThe Head Bartender plays a key leadership role within the beverage team and is responsible for exemplifying the highest standards of hospitality. This position ensures an exceptional guest experience through the preparation and service of beverages, operational excellence behind the bar, team guidance, and strong knowledge of product and presentation. The Head Bartender also manages stock levels, ensures cleanliness, and always enforces Milos’s service standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESGuest Experience & ServiceDeliver gracious, attentive, and personalized service to every guestLead by example in embodying Milos’s philosophy of uncompromising hospitalityPrepare and serve beverages efficiently, ensuring consistency and qualityTake beverage orders from servers and guests; recommend pairings as neededEnsure timely delivery of drinks to tables or bar guestsMaintain a warm, welcoming, and professional demeanor at all timesHandle guest complaints or concerns with discretion and resolution-focused communicationOperational DutiesAttend all mandatory pre-shift meetingsArrive on time and fully prepared for each shiftMix cocktails to specification, ensuring consistency in taste and presentationServe wine, beer, classic cocktails, and house specialsMaintain bar cleanliness during and after serviceClean glasses, bar equipment, and bar surfaces regularlyServe light snacks and food to guests seated at the barInventory & Stock ManagementConduct accurate and regular stocktakes of all bar products and suppliesMonitor par levels and ensure timely ordering of stock to avoid shortagesTrack and minimize waste, breakage, and discrepanciesReceive and verify bar deliveries, ensuring correct quantities and storageMaintain an organized and clean back bar and stockroomFinancial ResponsibilitiesCollect and process payments for drinks servedPrevent revenue loss through proper portioning and upholding pour policiesMonitor overconsumption and manage liability responsibly, arranging safe transport when neededLeadership & ComplianceEnforce legal requirements including age verification and responsible alcohol serviceLead bar staff by example in professionalism, grooming, and teamworkUphold hygiene, health 'safety, and sanitation protocols at all timesEnsure the bar meets all licensing and compliance regulationsPerform additional duties or special projects as assigned by management MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSFluent in English; additional languages a plusHigh school diploma required; hospitality or bar certification preferredMinimum 1–2 years’ experience in a high-end restaurant or hotel bar; leadership experience is an assetIn-depth knowledge of spirits, wine, classic and modern cocktailsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesAble to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kgMust have the legal right to live and work in the UK.
