Main duties of the jobAs a Health Care Assistant at Harvey Group Practice, you will support the clinical team in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to our patients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include a mix of clinical and administrative tasks to ensure smooth running of the practice. You will carry out a range of clinical duties such as blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, administering certain vaccinations, wound care and supporting chronic disease management under the supervision of the nursing team. In addition to patient-facing tasks, you will be responsible for daily room checks to maintain clinical cleanliness and safety standards, carrying out regular cleaning of equipment and clinical areas, ordering medical supplies, and conducting stock takes to ensure everything is fully equipped and ready for use. You will be a key part of the team, playing a crucial role in keeping the practice running smoothly and providing excellent care to our patients. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties Carry out blood pressure monitoring and pulse checksRecord height, weight, BMI, and other basic observationsUndertake ECGs and urine testingCarry out NHS Health Checks and support chronic disease management reviewsAdminister specific vaccinations and B12 injections (following appropriate training and protocols)Support wound care and dressingsAssist with minor procedures as requiredAccurately record information and observations in the patient record using appropriate clinical systemsInfection Control & Environment Conduct daily clinical room checks to ensure safety, cleanliness, and readinessClean and maintain clinical areas and equipment in line with infection control protocolsSupport the implementation of infection prevention and control measuresStock & Supplies Carry out stock ordering for clinical rooms and treatment areasComplete regular stock checks and ensure correct storage of medical suppliesMonitor expiry dates and maintain accurate stock levelsGeneral Work collaboratively with all members of the practice teamParticipate in team meetings, audits, and training sessionsMaintain patient confidentiality at all timesComply with all practice policies and proceduresPerson SpecificationExperiencePrevious experience in a Health Care Assistant role Confident in carrying out basic clinical procedures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures IT literate, with the ability to learn clinical systems Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Experience working in a GP surgery or primary care setting Qualified in ECGs, wound care, and vaccinations Knowledge of EMIS Web (or similar clinical system) Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
