You WillSupport clients in building a network of resources and connections for recovery. Encourage independent decision-making and self-advocacy in treatment. Mentor clients by role-modeling positive coping strategies. Assist individuals in recognizing and managing triggers. Advocate for client rights and community inclusion. Transport clients as needed for services and program support.To be successful in this role, you must be instable recovery from a behavioral health condition , as defined by Pawnee Mental Health. Peer Support Certification is required or must be obtained. Current or past life experience as a primary consumer of mental health services is required. Oral and written communication skills using the English language. A valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance maintained in accordance with Pawnee policy and procedure. Basic personal computer skills which enable the entry, retrieval and use of electronic data.All employees will be required to submit to and pass a background check and drug screening.PreferredExperience with Microsoft Office software.
