Posted: 9th July 2025 Salary: £14 per hour Location: Sturminster Newton Reference: YSTURMINSTER We have an amazing opportunity for a permanent Production Operative role, and we are looking to welcome an enthusiastic person to join the team! Small site but part of a large and reputed company. Based in Sturminster Newton, Dorset. Working hours: 6am until finish (40-45 hours), Monday to Friday. The role involves: Ensure carcasses are dressed and trimmed according to the factory and Customer specifications as directed by the Production Supervisor Ensure work is carried out to the best of operative’s abilities to meet production deadlines Seek training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice Ensure dressing and trimming done following company procedures to produce optimum production yield while adhering to legislation and company requirements – Work as part of a team and take responsibility for own work Carry out all procedures in a safe manner in accordance with training Comply with company policy and procedures on safe food handling & hygiene at all times Maintain responsibility for operational effectiveness of equipment and machinery and report faults to supervisor in a timely manner Adhere to PPE use and requirements General housekeeping part of the duties in the factory Carry out any other reasonable duties assigned Benefits: Permanent position Life insurance scheme Free onsite parking Staff celebrations Employee Assistance Portal Training provided Free fruits & hot drinks Discounted meat sales Monday-Friday position Christmas Beef Joint Service & Recognition awards Cycle to Work scheme Skills The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to follow detailed operating procedures with a high degree of attention to detail The candidate will follow instructions including those relating to personal health and safety and the wearing of PPE Level 2 Food Safety training beneficial but training provided General operative tasks are fast paced, require a substantial amount of physical ability and will take place in a refrigerated environment Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Cycle to work scheme Free parking On-site parking Work Location: In person Interested in this vacancy?Please note, all fields marked with an ' * ' are mandatory.
