ANIMAL CARE TECHNICIAN Petersfield, MB - Full Time Position Starting Rate: $19.00POSITION SUMMARYThe Animal Care Technician works directly with the Manager, Hog Barn, and is responsible for carrying out day-to-day activities in the barn. This includes physical tasks such as pushing, pulling, bending, lifting, and continuous walking. The role requires teamwork to meet production goals while adhering to health and safety policies, and following MLAF SOPs for humane animal treatment.RESPONSIBILITIESAssist with all production areas including feeding and caring for pigs, maintaining herd health and environment, pressure washing, preparing rooms, and general maintenance. Also responsible for cleaning, clerical duties like maintaining door charts, inventory trackers, and ordering feed and medication.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication skills (oral and written) Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks Ability to wear PPE and follow safety protocols Ability to lift 25kg Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to rural location Availability for weekend, holiday, and rotational alarm shifts Alignment with Maple Leaf Leadership Values Experience in hog production is an asset Please submit your resume to: Email:mlafjobs@or text 431-279-MLAF We thank all applicants for their interest.
