This role is key to ensuring 24/7 operational integrity across a live critical infrastructure environment, supporting the delivery of reliable services in a high availability setting. This is a hands-on contract position ideal for someone with a strong background in facility-based operations, power and cooling systems, and basic IT/networking oversight. Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all technical operations during allocated shifts, acting as the primary point of contact on site. Perform critical system monitoring and maintenance across power, cooling and IT infrastructure. Coordinate with internal teams and third-party contractors to carry out maintenance and reactive tasks. Identify and troubleshoot infrastructure faults, escalating where appropriate to ensure minimal disruption. Ensure adherence to operational procedures, H&S requirements, and technical protocols. Support site security, access control, and ensure accurate shift handovers and logging. Maintain a proactive approach to risk mitigation and issue resolution during live operations. Experience & Skills Required Solid experience in data centre environments or critical facilities (e.g. hospitals, banking infrastructure, or NOCs). Proven understanding of power systems (UPS, switchgear), HVAC, CRAC/CRAH units, and building management systems (BMS). Familiarity with IT, network monitoring and basic troubleshooting is advantageous. Strong decision-making capabilities under pressure, with excellent fault-finding skills. Comfortable working independently during night or weekend shifts if required. Good communication and coordination skills, especially when liaising with vendors or external service teams. This assignment offers the chance to step into a high-responsibility environment and make a measurable impact on operational performance. It is ideal for engineers with availability in the next 2-4 weeks and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast paced, mission-critical setting.
