This role requires an experienced cardiac and/or thoracic scrub practitioner who is motivated and hardworking. As your confidence and knowledge grows you will take an active role in mentoring more junior members of staff and undertake appraisal when requested. You must have NMC or HPC registration and have extensive experience in the theatre environment As with all theatre environments, each day with us has its own special demands as we have a variety of theatre activity on any given day. Scrubbing for cardiac, thoracic and Paediatric surgical cases Mentoring and supporting more junior members of staff undertake appraisal. Person SpecificationEDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONSRegistered Nurse Post-registration working in an acute theatre setting Experience in cardio thoracic theatres EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGEAbility to practice within the scope of the NMC Code of Professional Conduct Ability to demonstrate application of the NHS Plan to own sphere of practice Awareness of the structure and organisation of the wider NHS SKILLS & ABILITIESlanguage demonstrated through effective literacy and numeracy skills Good interpersonal skills Able to manage difficult situations PERSONAL QUALITIESAbility to work within a team and independently Caring, kind and compassionate Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
