Role Overview:The Finance Manager leads the operational finance team and is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial control and reporting across Giorgio Armani UK & Ireland. This includes oversight of all core accounting processes, statutory accounts, internal controls, and liaison with the Group Accounting team in Milan. The role manages a team of three and works closely with both internal and external stakeholders to uphold reporting standards, develop and evolve effective practices that support ongoing improvement, and contribute to overall business performance. Responsibilities: Lead and develop a team of three across accounting and treasury functions. Set expectations and ensure delivery of all core finance tasks in line with internal deadlines and control requirements. Coach and support team members through development planning, regular feedback, and technical upskilling. Escalation point for all day-to-day financial queries relating to posting, payments, reconciliation, and controls. Oversee all month-end close activities ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness across ledgers. Review and approve journals, accruals, prepayments, and reclasses. Align closely with the FP&A team to validate actuals and provide variance clarity. Maintain strong alignment between SAP, Excel-based trackers, and BPC. Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and balance sheet through robust reconciliations and reviews. Deliver compliant financial statements under IFRS and Group accounting policies. Prepare statutory financial accounts for UK and Ireland entities. Provide financial clarity and technical guidance across the team. Drive continuous improvement in all finance processes, ensuring efficiency, control, and documentation. Maintain and enforce financial control frameworks to support audit readiness and internal assurance. Review and enhance controls related to banking, inventory accounting, intercompany transactions, and fixed assets. Ensure consistent implementation of Group standards and coordinate with Milan on control alignment. Oversee VAT return process and indirect tax compliance in collaboration with the accounting team. Coordinate supporting schedules and reconciliations for corporate tax filings. Ensure accurate tax accounting within SAP, including import duties and deferred tax adjustments. Support resolution of HMRC queries and Group tax audits as required.it Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, managing timelines and data requests and resolving queries. Coordinate year-end audit deliverables across the team. Lead internal audit preparation and action tracking. Implement recommendations from audit findings to strengthen future cycle Degree-qualified, with a recognised accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, or CIMA), part or fully qualified Minimum 3 years’ experience in a finance role with team leadership responsibilities Strong technical knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and ledger integrity Advanced Excel user (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, data management) Strong working knowledge of SAP, BPC, and Ayden or similar platforms Confident in preparing statutory accounts and supporting audit cycles Familiarity with UK tax requirements and IFRA collaborative and empowering leader who embodies our values of excellence, expertise, and accountability across the team.
