We are supporting our historic manufacturing client in their recruitment for a machine shop operator. Ideally you will have some machining background. You will be required to assist with machining centrifugally spun castings for the Aerospace and Power Generation industries, in a range of stainless alloys. Principal Accountabilities: Assist with the machining large castings to drawings and to tolerance specified.. Ensure production is carried out to meet time frames set. Visual inspection of machined castings. Marking up of swarf drums (alloy identification). To work as part of a team with minimum supervision. The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and translate these into producing dimensionally correct components. High attention to detail An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Able to operate on your own initiative, but also able to contribute in a team environment. Flexible attitude towards work and overtime, including shift working. A good understanding of health 'safety, environmental issues and quality rules.
