The RoleMaintenance Engineer Fresh People are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a leading fresh produce business based in Dartford, Kent. This is a full-time, on-site position working a night shift 5 days per week 9pm till 6am, as part of the Engineering team responsible for maintaining, servicing, and supporting machinery and equipment across a state-of-the-art facility. The role involves both reactive and proactive maintenance, supporting site operations by minimising downtime and ensuring safety and compliance at all times. The Person We are looking for a multi-skilled engineer with experience in FMCG or chilled environments, preferably with both electrical and mechanical competencies. Candidates must be apprenticeship trained (ONC/HNC), able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have a proactive, hands-on approach to engineering tasks. Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as a solid understanding of health and safety standards. Experience with CMMS systems and packing machinery is highly desirable.
