The Night Worker at Passage House will be responsible for managing the building to ensure that the accommodation provided to the clients is safe and secure through the provision of overnight concierge service and security this includes controlling access to buildings, being the first point of contact for all emergencies and carrying out Health and Safety checks and cleaning. The Night Concierge Worker will also be available to deal with urgent client or neighbour issues as they arise and to carry out required administrative tasks To adhere to health and safety, maintenance and building regulations to ensure both a safe and welcoming environment for residents, staff and volunteers. To handle incidents effectively, prioritising the safety of the clients and the building, and dealing with them in an appropriate and sensitive manner that considers the clients’ needs at all times To treat clients and their concerns with dignity and respect ensuring you remain calm and objective when dealing with difficult or problematic situations. Spending time talking to the residents; supporting the key worker role with clients likely to be seen more at night. KnowledgeKnowledge of homelessness, understanding of the varied needs of homelesspeople and those at acute risk of homelessness Knowledge of Health and Safety, and the implications of this in the working environment. Knowledge of requirements of Supporting People and psychologically informed ways of working within a residential setting. An understanding and experience of working with people from different cultural backgrounds. Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedure. Desired experienceExperience of working within a team and achieving strong and effective relationships with others in order to achieve organisational aims and objectives. Experience of building and developing effective relationships with a vulnerable, disadvantaged or excluded client group. Experience of managing overnight security, preferably in a residential housing project for disadvantaged people. Experience of monitoring CCTV systems and managing health and safety issues.
