Working within the Boys Academy, you will work primarily across the U18s and U21s squads in helping to develop young players into professional footballers, whilst working with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to promote the health and wellbeing of the players. What will you be doing? You will play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of academy players, helping them to perform at their peak while preventing and managing injuries and producing progressive injury rehabilitation programmes based on SFC principles. In conjunction with other Physiotherapists you will implement appropriate individual and squad injury/illness prevention strategies in relation to movement re-training (low and high load), physiology, illness, psychology and performance. Working with other departments such as sports science and performance analysis you will need to ensure there is full integration between departments to support and develop the provision across age groups. Other duties include: Maintain accurate and up to date clinical notes.Educate players in terms of injury prevention, injury care, post-match recovery, diet, drug awareness and whereabouts issues.Provide medical examinations to academy players upon entry into the programme ensuring full liaison with the Academy Doctor and Physiotherapists where appropriate.Accompany players to scans and hospital appointments as required.Assist and lead first aid and pitch side cover for training sessions and matches.Liaise with players, parents and staff in order to provide appropriate feedback on treatment of injuries.There will be an expectation to attend home and away games when necessary.Is this you?
